Acquired by the Town of Lisbon in 1987, and leased to the Lisbon Historical Society in 1988, the John Bishop House and Museum is a remarkable early Federal structure. Occupied by only three families since its construction, it was owned by John Bishop in the early 1800's. The house was sold in 1818 to Tyler Browne, a large landowner and trader in the area. In 1915, the house passed on to the Bradlaw family, who lived there for over 70 years.
